Summer Smoothie Recipes

Fruit smoothies are packed with essential nutrients your body needs to function properly and the health benefits are endless. They can help to boost your brain, improve digestion, help control blood sugar levels and aid in fat loss.

A homemade smoothie in the morning can set you up for the day and is an excellent choice if you still want a healthy breakfast.. They also make the perfect snack for when you need a burst of energy.

Here at Sundial, we are proud to offer our guests a selection of freshly prepared smoothies every day. Below are some of our very own recipes, why not try them yourself at home?

Mellow Yellow

  • 1/2 pineapple
  • 2 kiwi
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 yellow pepper
  • 1 apple
  • 1/2 banana
  • Handful of ice cubes

Peel the kiwis. Juice 1 of the kiwi along with the pineapple, lemon, pepper and apple. Blend the juice and other ingredients together. Enjoy.

Fact: Studies have found that eating 2-3 kiwis a day has been shown to reduce the potential of blood clotting by 18%.

Avocanana

  • 1 avocado
  • 2 bananas
  • 4 apples
  • Handful ice cubes

Juice the apples and then blend with other ingredients.

Fact: Rich in pectin, bananas aid digestion acting as a prebiotic, stimulating the growth of friendly bacteria in the bowels.

Pure Purple Power

  • 2 apples
  • 1 beetroot
  • 100g blueberries
  • 100g blackberries
  • Handful of ice cubes

Juice apples and beetroot before blending with other ingredients.

Fact: Blueberries are true kings of the fruit world and have a majestic reputation due to their many health properties.

Pear and Mint Magic

  • 2 pears
  • 1/4 cucumber
  • 1/2 lime
  • 4 sprigs mint
  • Handful ice cubes

Juice the pear, cucumber and lime then blend with other ingredients.

Fact: Pears are a good source of dietary fibre, antioxidants, minerals and vitamins, which are all important for optimum health.
